Michelle Laeremans works as a biomedical scientist at Novosanis. Her goal is to improve quality of life and she loves to explore different ways to do this. She wants to know the “so what” behind information and is always excited about finding and optimizing the right tools to collect, translate and deliver new findings.
In 2013, Michelle graduated as a bio-engineer in cell and gene biotechnology at the University of Ghent. She obtained her PhD at the University of Hasselt and the Flemish Institute of Technological Research (VITO). Michelle successfully defended her thesis in 2018 which was titled "Cardiorespiratory effects of physical activity and urban air pollution in Europe". She also gained experience in medical device development at a digital health start-up and in pharmaceutical manufacturing as a test and validation engineer.
